Established in 1995 by John and Emelia Mensah, Uncle John's Bakery is a cornerstone of Ghanaian food culture in the United Kingdom. It was born from a desire to bring the taste of home to the Afro-Caribbean community in London, starting with a signature sweet bread recipe passed down from John's mother, Nana Mary. What began with baking at night in a shared space and selling from a van has grown into a beloved institution, now led by the family's second generation.
