Founded in 2021 by Kartik Kumra, Kartik Research is a New Delhi-based brand dedicated to reintroducing a human touch to fashion by celebrating India’s rich heritage of craftsmanship. Kumra, who studied economics, launched the label after seeing a gap in the market for contemporary menswear that authentically referenced India’s textile traditions. Each garment contains a handmade element, from fabrics produced on handlooms without electricity to natural dyeing techniques and intricate hand-embroideries. The brand’s core philosophy is to preserve and provide sustainable livelihoods for artisan communities across India, working with weavers, printers, and embroiderers to create modern silhouettes.
