Founded in 2017 by Shari Fine, a Roslyn, New York mother with a background in the garment industry, KatieJNYC emerged from a personal quest to find suitable clothing for her tween daughter. The brand began with a single, thoughtfully designed bra that was comfortable, age-appropriate, and versatile, addressing a clear gap in the market for girls transitioning out of children's sizes but not yet fitting into the women's department. From that initial piece, the company has expanded into a full fashion line that includes dresses, skirts, activewear, and loungewear, all guided by a "mom- and daughter-approved" philosophy.
