Kay Bojesen is one of Danish design’s most storied brands, founded in 1932 by the silversmith of the same name. Originally trained under Georg Jensen, Kay Bojesen (1886-1958) embraced functionalism with a unique sense of humor and warmth, believing that “lines need to smile.” This philosophy guided his transition into wood, where he found global acclaim for a beloved collection of handcrafted animal figures. His most famous creation, the 1951 teak and limba Monkey, has become a cherished emblem of Scandinavian design, passed down through generations.
