Founded in Paris in 1970 by Japanese designer Kenzo Takada, Kenzo broke from Parisian couture conventions with a youthful, unrestrained approach to fashion. Takada's vision was a celebration of freedom and cultural diversity, fusing his Japanese roots with European style to create a uniquely energetic aesthetic. The house quickly became known for its vibrant colors, bold floral and jungle-themed prints, and comfortable, unstructured silhouettes that stood in stark contrast to the rigid tailoring of the time.
