Founded in Paris in 1970 by Japanese designer Kenzo Takada, Kenzo broke from Parisian couture conventions with a youthful, unrestrained approach to fashion. Takada's vision was a celebration of freedom and cultural diversity, fusing his Japanese roots with European style to create a uniquely energetic aesthetic. The house quickly became known for its vibrant colors, bold floral and jungle-themed prints, and comfortable, unstructured silhouettes that stood in stark contrast to the rigid tailoring of the time. Signature items include graphic sweatshirts, particularly those featuring the iconic tiger motif introduced by creative directors Carol Lim and Humberto Leon, as well as ready-to-wear, accessories, and globally recognized fragrances like Flower by Kenzo.
