Founded in 2016 by husband-and-wife duo Ibrahim Shams and Noha El Taher, Kiliim is an Egyptian social enterprise and lifestyle brand dedicated to reviving the ancient craft of kilim weaving. After struggling to find an authentic, modern kilim for their daughter's nursery, the founders partnered with artisans in Fowa—a village in the Nile Delta with a rich but fading heritage of flat-weaving—to bring the craft into the 21st century. Kiliim is known for its vibrant, flatwoven rugs, cushions, and throws that merge traditional Egyptian techniques with contemporary, minimalist aesthetics. The brand's core product lines feature geometric patterns, art deco influences, and botanical motifs, all rendered in high-quality wool and Egyptian cotton.
