Founded in 2014 by Kiminte Kimhekim, a South Korean designer trained at Studio Berçot and Nicolas Ghesquière’s Balenciaga, KIMHĒKIM merges French couture techniques with its founder's ancestral legacy. The brand’s name is a nod to an ancient Korean royal family, informing an approach that reinterprets traditional Korean elements, like the hanbok, through a modern, artistic lens. The Seoul-based atelier is celebrated for its dualities: minimalist silhouettes are disrupted by dramatic, maximalist details such as giant organza bows, sculptural pearl embellishments, and other experimental textures from its ongoing 'Obsession' series.
