Kork-Ease was founded in Brooklyn in 1953, originally driven by a vision to fuse comfort and unique design. The brand solidified its place in footwear history in the 1970s with the release of its famed buffalo sandal—a sky-high cork platform wedge with thick crisscrossing leather straps. This signature silhouette became a defining fashion symbol of the disco era, famously worn by the crowds at Studio 54 and across the streets of New York. In 1973, the buffalo sandal was even added to the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute's Landmark Shoe Collection.
