Founded in Milan in 1922 by tailor Guglielmo Miani Sr., Larusmiani is one of Italy’s oldest and most revered luxury menswear and textile brands. The house began with Miani crafting bespoke suits and raincoats for a clientele of artists and public figures, including Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin. Its name and seagull logo—'Larus' in Latin—were inspired by the waterproof nature of the bird’s wings, reflecting the quality of its original outerwear. Today, under the leadership of the founder's grandson, Guglielmo Miani, Larusmiani maintains its dual identity as both a producer of over two million meters of premier textiles annually for the wider luxury industry and a purveyor of its own ready-to-wear collections.
