Founded in 2018 by designer Takanohiro Okude, LASTFRAME is a Japanese accessories brand born from a desire to preserve and modernize the country’s fading traditional craft techniques. After years of traveling abroad, Okude returned to his roots, discovering a 120-year-old silk weaving shop in Ishikawa Prefecture that inspired the brand's inception. LASTFRAME is best known for its signature 'market bags'—vibrant, stretchy knit totes featuring the 'Ichimatsu' checkerboard pattern, originally found in Edo-period Kabuki costumes. These pieces are meticulously crafted on specialized, rare Japanese knitting machines, resulting in a unique ribbed texture that expands to hold everyday essentials while remaining incredibly lightweight.
