Founded in 1930 by Prince Murat, Le Galion rose to prominence under the ownership of legendary perfumer Paul Vacher starting in 1935. Vacher, who co-created icons like Lanvin's Arpège and Dior's Miss Dior, established Le Galion as a symbol of Parisian chic and olfactory excellence. The house's signature fragrance, Sortilège (1936), a grand floral aldehyde with over eighty essences, became the scent of New York's exclusive Stork Club and was beloved by Hollywood stars like Marilyn Monroe and Ava Gardner. For decades, Le Galion produced revered scents known for their use of high-quality natural raw materials, including jasmine, rose, and iris, many sourced from Grasse.
