Founded in 1998 by Japanese designer Yoshie Inaba, L'Equipe Yoshie Inaba (now often known simply as L'Equipe) was established as a casualwear line focused on the concept of "effortless modern." Inaba, who launched her eponymous haute couture atelier in 1964 and her main ready-to-wear line in 1981, created L'Equipe to offer relaxed, comfortable clothing for women.
