Founded by Luca Gnecchi Ruscone, L.G.R was born from a serendipitous discovery in a former optical warehouse in Asmara, Eritrea. In 2005, Ruscone found a collection of colonial-era sunglasses, which inspired him to revive their elegant, adventurous spirit. Officially launched in 2008, the brand merges the glamour of the Italian Riviera with the soul of Africa, creating eyewear that is both timeless and narrative-rich. Every frame is entirely handmade in Italy by small, family-run artisanal workshops, a process that can take up to 14 weeks and honors traditional production methods to ensure durability and a refined finish.
