Founded in 1990 by Gene Montesano and Barry Perlman, Lucky Brand is built on a foundation of American denim and rock-and-roll irreverence. From its origins in Los Angeles, the brand distinguished itself by manually distressing jeans—sanding, fraying, and washing them by hand to give each pair a unique, lived-in character. This approach created vintage-inspired denim with playful, personalized details, most notably the signature “LUCKY YOU” message stitched into the fly of every pair of jeans.
