Founded in 1885 in Vienna by shoemaker Ludwig Reiter I, Ludwig Reiter is an Austrian heritage brand rooted in traditional craftsmanship. Originally supplying custom-made boots and welted shoes to the Austro-Hungarian army, the family-owned house is now in its fourth generation and remains the only surviving shoe manufacturer in Vienna. The brand is celebrated for its Goodyear-welted construction, a technique brought back from the United States by Ludwig Reiter II in the early 20th century.
