Founded in 2018 by Moroccan sisters Zineb and Rim, Maaÿaz (originally launched as Moroccan Birds) is a jewelry brand that translates the rich heritage of Moroccan craftsmanship into contemporary adornments. Zineb, an artist based in New York, designs the pieces, while Rim oversees operations and works closely with artisans in their Casablanca atelier. The brand’s signature lies in its use of "sfifa"—the traditional braided gold and silver skalli threads historically used to embellish the kaftan.
