Marina Yee is a Belgian fashion designer and a founding member of the influential Antwerp Six. Born in 1958, she graduated from Antwerp's Royal Academy of Fine Arts in 1981, and alongside her peers, she helped put Belgian fashion on the global map with a landmark group show in London in 1986. Often described as the most elusive member of the collective, Yee's work is defined by a quiet, intellectual radicalism and the philosophy that "beauty lies in reconstruction." She was a pioneer of sustainable fashion, transforming discarded garments and worn fabrics into new, soulful pieces long before upcycling became a mainstream concept.
