Launched in 2008, Mary Katrantzou’s eponymous London-based label revolutionized fashion with its pioneering use of hyper-real digital prints. Born in Athens to an interior designer and a textile engineer, Katrantzou’s background in architecture from the Rhode Island School of Design and textile design from Central Saint Martins informs her distinctly sculptural and imaginative work. Dubbed the “Queen of Print,” her early collections featured trompe l'oeil prints of oversized jewelry, perfume bottles, and postage stamps, transforming the female form into a canvas for surrealist art.
