Founded in 1988 by Pat Mastrincola, The Master Series Coating Line, known for its Mastercoat products, emerged from a commitment to industrial-grade rust prevention for the automotive restoration market. The brand’s history is tied to the original moisture-cured urethane (MCU) bridge primer formula developed by Mobay Chemical. When a competing brand, implied to be POR-15, shifted to a less effective black pigment, Mastrincola started his own company to preserve the original, superior silver formula. The brand’s cornerstone product, Mastercoat Permanent Rust Sealer, uses a non-leafing aluminum pigment that creates an airtight, waterproof barrier to stop rust permanently.
