Master Shin’s Anvil is the oldest blacksmith shop in South Korea, established in 1845 in the city of Anseong. The workshop is currently led by fifth-generation blacksmith Master Shin In-young, who began his apprenticeship at age 13 and achieved master status by 17. In 2016, the Korean government named him an Intangible Cultural Heritage Treasure in recognition of his rare skills and dedication to preserving ancient craft techniques.
