MASU, a Tokyo-based fashion brand, was founded in 2017 and has been under the creative direction of Shinpei Goto since its 2018 rebranding. Goto, who honed his skills at the renowned vintage shop LAILA, built the brand on the philosophy of creating “clothes that can be vintage for someone, loved beyond the times.” The name itself is derived from the polite Japanese verb ending “-masu,” reflecting a sincere and enduring approach to design. The collections are known for thoughtfully deconstructing and reimagining historical garments, from military wear to classic tailoring, infusing them with a contemporary and often playful spirit.
