Founded in 2019 by seventh-generation master perfumer Aurélien Guichard, Matiere Premiere is a French fragrance house built on a singular philosophy: to highlight the beauty of a central raw ingredient. Guichard, who has created scents for houses like Gucci and Tom Ford, takes a 'farm-to-fragrance' approach, cultivating his own organic Rose Centifolia and Tuberose in Grasse, the heartland of French perfumery. This direct control over sourcing ensures exceptional quality and underpins the brand's commitment to sustainable and ethical practices. Each composition is intentionally linear and modern, designed to showcase the primary material in high concentration, from the honeyed leather of 'Falcon Leather' to the bright, sensual tuberose in 'French Flower'.
