Founded in 1958 in Milan by Maria Carmen Nutrizio, Mila Schön is a historic Italian luxury house that helped define the mid-century Alta Moda landscape. The founder, a former aristocrat who turned to dressmaking after losing her wealth, translated her intimate knowledge of Parisian couture into a distinctly modern, stripped-back aesthetic. Schön quickly became known for her rigorous, geometric approach to design, drawing inspiration from contemporary artists like Lucio Fontana and Alexander Calder to create wearable works of art.
