Founded in 1953 in Gallarate, Italy, by Ottavio and Rosita Missoni, the brand began as a small knitwear workshop that revolutionized fashion with its kaleidoscopic colors and geometric patterns. Known for its "put-together" aesthetic, Missoni transformed knitwear into an art form, defining a 1970s-inspired bohemian luxury that remains its hallmark. The eyewear collection, produced in partnership with Italian manufacturer Safilo, translates this heritage into optical and sun frames, frequently incorporating the house’s signature zigzag motifs and authentic fabrics directly into the acetate.
