Founded in Copenhagen in 2019 by Mikkel Zebitz, Motarasu is an independent Danish design house built on a direct creative exchange between Japanese and Scandinavian designers. Rather than merely drawing inspiration from Japan, the brand unites designers from both cultures to collaborate on equal footing, exploring the shared values of the Japandi aesthetic. The name, a Japanese verb meaning "to bring" or "to change," reflects its mission to introduce harmony and poetic simplicity into everyday spaces.
