MOTD Cosmetics was founded in 2015 by esthetician and makeup artist Chantal Azamian to simplify makeup application. Inspired by the lack of guidance for beginners, Azamian created a line of PETA-certified, 100% vegan and cruelty-free makeup brushes with each tool’s purpose clearly labeled on the handle. The brand’s core philosophy is to make beauty accessible and less intimidating for makeup enthusiasts of all levels. The initial launch was funded through a successful Kickstarter campaign, born from a business plan Azamian developed while pursuing a marketing degree.
