Founded by Matteo Lamandini in 2016, MTLSTUDIO is a Modena-based menswear label that reinterprets Italian sartorial heritage with a contemporary, street-inflected sensibility. A former accounting student, Lamandini pivoted to fashion and honed his skills at Istituto Marangoni before gaining experience at MSGM and Marni. The brand’s direction was solidified after Lamandini won the “Designer for Tomorrow” award in 2014, which led to a mentorship with Tommy Hilfiger. MTLSTUDIO’s design philosophy is rooted in ironically subverting traditional formalwear, drawing inspiration from the founder's desire to modernize the rigid “uniforms” of the financial world and his grandfather's classic wardrobe.
