Founded in 1998 in Plettenberg Bay, South Africa, by master weaver Stuart Holding, Mungo is a homeware textile company rooted in transparency and traditional craftsmanship. Holding, who trained in the historic mills of Yorkshire, began the brand by restoring two 1880s Lancashire looms to weave small batches of cloth in an open studio. Today, Mungo operates from a custom-built, open-to-the-public mill, emphasizing a deep connection between the maker, the process, and the final product.
