Founded in 2015 by former shipping executive and Vogue Turkey editor Gamze Ates, My Beachy Side is a luxury resort wear brand with a deep commitment to social and cultural sustainability. The label was born from Ates’s desire to create economic opportunities for disadvantaged women in her native Turkey, including Syrian refugees, by leveraging their traditional hand-craft skills. The brand’s signature is its intricate, hand-crocheted clothing and accessories, which transform time-honored Turkish artisanal techniques into modern, bohemian-inflected designs for a global audience.
