Nannacay, which translates to “sisterhood of women” in the Quechua-Aymara language, was founded in 2014 by former executive Marcia Kemp as a social fashion project. Born from Kemp’s travels and a desire to connect global artisans with the fashion market, the Brazilian-based brand is built on the mission of “Creative Hands Transforming Lives.” The core of the collection consists of colorful, handmade bags crafted by artisan communities across South America, including Peru, Ecuador, and Brazil. Each piece, from woven straw totes decorated with bright pom-poms to intricate crochet shoulder bags, carries the name of the artisan who made it, adding a personal connection to its craft.
