Nishane is the first and only Istanbul-based niche perfume brand with a global presence, founded in 2012 by creative directors Mert Güzel and Murat Katran. Inspired by Istanbul's unique position as a bridge between Eastern and Western cultures, the house creates scents that tell stories. The founders, one with a background in luxury hospitality and the other with experience in international trade and acting, merged their artistic and aesthetic sensibilities to build a fragrance house rooted in narrative and emotion. Nishane's collections often draw from Turkish traditions, such as the famous 'Shadow Play' characters Karagöz and Hacivat, or the poetry of Rumi, to inform its creations.
