Nopalera was founded in 2020 by Sandra Velasquez to celebrate and elevate Latino culture in the luxury beauty space. Growing up near the US-Mexico border, Velasquez was inspired by the nopal (prickly pear) cactus, a resilient and culturally significant plant she saw in her own front yard. The brand was born from her mission to create high-end bath and body products that authentically represent her heritage and fill a void in a predominantly Eurocentric market.
