Founded in 2011 by Toshi Ohta in Fussa, Tokyo—a city adjacent to a US military base—North Works merges American heritage with Japanese craftsmanship. Ohta, whose background in leatherwork and silversmithing was shaped by his exposure to American culture, established the brand to explore the essence of Americana through a modern Japanese lens. The brand is best known for its masterful upcycling of late 19th and early 20th-century US silver coins, such as Morgan Dollars and Liberty quarters, transforming them into rings, bangles, and pendants.
