Founded in 2007 in Bergen, Norway—famously Europe’s rainiest city—Norwegian Rain was born from a desire to create highly functional outerwear without sacrificing sartorial elegance. Business graduate Alexander Helle teamed up with bespoke tailor and designer T-Michael to develop a line of 100% waterproof, breathable coats that conceal their high-tech performance behind classic tailoring and Japanese-inspired minimalism. The brand’s signature pieces, such as the unisex Raincho, feature dramatic, sculptural silhouettes crafted from 70–100% recycled Japanese polyester, complete with elegant details like horn buttons and cashmere-lined collars.
