Founded in 2004 in New York City by makeup artist David Klasfeld, Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics (OCC) emerged as a trailblazer in the indie beauty space. Klasfeld, drawing from his background in film and professional artistry, initially launched the brand with two vegan lip balms before introducing the product that would define its legacy: the Lip Tar.
