Founded in 2009 in Malibu, California by sneaker industry veteran Ludo Malmoux, OETZI draws its core inspiration from the oldest known footwear—the 5,300-year-old shoes worn by Ötzi the Iceman. Malmoux, a former creative director for an athletic lifestyle brand, sought to redesign this prehistoric, primal-tech concept for the modern era. The brand is known for its distinctive aesthetic, offering chunky platform sneakers, canvas shoes, and slip-ons that merge cyberpunk and futuristic techwear elements with organic, anatomical comfort. Signature designs feature antimicrobial cork footbeds that mold to the wearer's feet, emphasizing a barefoot-like feel.
