Founded in Montréal in 2019 by François-Xavier Tétreault and Simon-David Fortin, Ostrya is a technical mountaineering brand built around a love for the outdoors and a respect for fashion. The founders, who met while studying fashion, established the brand to create high-performance gear with a distinctively playful and progressive aesthetic, filling a void left by larger brands that moved production overseas. Ostrya prides itself on its local, hands-on manufacturing process, with many garments cut, sewn, and produced in its own Montréal workshop. This approach allows for meticulous quality control and a commitment to ethical production.
