Founded by Deniz Gurdal in 2010 from a stall on London’s Portobello Road, Ottoman Hands is a jewelry brand built on Turkish heritage. Inspired by the craftsmanship of the Ottoman Empire, Gurdal collaborates with a small workshop in Istanbul's Grand Bazaar to create designs that fuse antique aesthetics with a modern, bohemian sensibility. The collections are known for their use of 21ct gold-plated recycled brass and semi-precious gemstones, featuring talismanic motifs like the evil eye and ancient coins. Produced in small batches to minimize waste, the brand emphasizes sustainability through recycled metals and carbon-neutral shipping.
