oxo

Founded in 1990 in New York City, OXO revolutionized the housewares industry with a simple yet radical philosophy: Universal Design. The brand was born from love when founder Sam Farber watched his wife, Betsey, struggle to grip a vegetable peeler due to mild arthritis. Determined to create a better solution, Farber launched the now-iconic Good Grips line, featuring chubby, non-slip black handles that were comfortable for hands of all shapes, sizes, and abilities. This commitment to accessibility transformed the humble kitchen gadget into a design object, earning the original peeler a permanent spot in the Museum of Modern Art.
