Founded in 1926 by Luigi Wollisch, Petronius 1926 is a third-generation Milanese atelier that stands as one of the last remaining guardians of authentic Italian tie-making. Named after Titus Petronius Niger, the Roman "Arbiter Elegantiae," the brand is currently led by siblings Gigliola and Simona Wollisch, who continue to operate from a historic workshop in Milan. The brand is revered for its uncompromising commitment to the "fatto a mano" (made by hand) tradition, where every tie is cut at a perfect 45-degree angle and hand-sewn to ensure the ideal drape and knot.
