Founded in 2007 by medical anthropologist Pippa Small, her eponymous London-based jewelry brand bridges the gap between human rights advocacy and fine jewelry. Rooted in her fieldwork and deep interest in indigenous cultures, Small’s approach to design is inherently collaborative, working directly with artisans in conflict zones and developing regions such as Afghanistan, Myanmar, Colombia, and Bolivia. The brand is celebrated for its earthy, talismanic aesthetic, featuring hand-cut, gently faceted gemstones set in 18-karat Fairtrade and Fairmined gold that intentionally follows the natural shape of each stone.
