Pirovano was a key chapter in Milan's post-war fashion history, embodying a discreet, bourgeois elegance. Founded a few years before WWII by designer Emma Maria Bonfanti and her husband, the leatherworker Felice Pirovano, the brand established itself on the prestigious Via Montenapoleone. With a tailor shop and a separate leather goods store, Pirovano catered to Milan's most discerning clientele, offering a "made-to-measure" luxury that was more restrained than its Parisian counterparts. The house became synonymous with the decorum and good taste of the 1960s Milanese woman, producing incredible embroidered clothes and timelessly designed handbags.
