Rooted in a century-long tradition of shoemaking, Pretty Ballerinas is a Spanish footwear brand celebrated for its modern take on the classic ballet flat. The brand’s story began in 1918, when the Mascaró family started handcrafting ballet slippers on the island of Menorca. This heritage of artisanal production continues today, with every pair still made in the same village. The Pretty Ballerinas brand itself was officially launched in 2005 by Úrsula Mascaró, a third-generation family member and designer, and David Bell, who translated the family’s shoemaking expertise into a focused, direct-to-consumer label.
