The PUMA x Lemlem collection is a partnership between the global sportswear giant and Lemlem, the artisan-driven fashion brand founded in 2007 by Ethiopian supermodel Liya Kebede. Kebede started the brand after a trip to her native country where she saw that traditional weavers were losing their livelihoods. Meaning “to bloom” in Amharic, Lemlem was created to preserve the ancient craft of hand-weaving while providing sustainable jobs and economic opportunities for artisans in Africa, particularly women.
