Founded in 2017 in Hong Kong by Julie Liu, a former fashion buyer for luxury houses, Qipology reimagines the traditional Chinese qipao for the modern wardrobe. Rooted in the cultural intersection of East and West, the brand was born from Liu’s personal struggle to find a contemporary, well-fitting qipao that felt relevant rather than costume-like. Qipology honors the garment’s iconic elements—such as the mandarin collar and pankou knot buttons—while softening silhouettes and integrating versatile fabrics like denim, tweed, and wrinkle-free silk.
