Founded in London in 2006 by Australian duo Tamara Ralph and Michael Russo, Ralph & Russo quickly ascended to the pinnacle of the fashion world, specializing in opulent haute couture, ready-to-wear, and accessories. As a fourth-generation couturier, Creative Director Tamara Ralph infused the house with a commitment to elaborate craftsmanship, producing elegant, feminine gowns that became fixtures on the international red carpet. In 2014, the house achieved a historic milestone, becoming the first British brand in nearly a century to be granted guest membership by the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture, cementing its status alongside legendary Parisian ateliers. The brand became synonymous with high-profile moments, most notably designing the £56,000 gown worn by Meghan Markle for her official engagement portraits to Prince Harry. Its creations, celebrated for their intricate beadwork, floral appliqués, and dramatic silhouettes, were favored by stars like Angelina Jolie and Beyoncé. Despite its acclaim, the brand faced insurmountable financial pressures during the pandemic, leading it to enter administration in March 2021. Following an acquisition, the original founders departed, with Tamara Ralph launching her own eponymous couture label in 2023.
