Founded in 2018 by partners Ohad Seroya and Aviad Klin, Retrofête channels the after-hours energy of past decades into a modern statement-making wardrobe. The New York-based brand, whose name translates to “vintage party,” was born after the founders identified a market gap for opulent, celebratory attire. Drawing from Seroya’s background as a buyer and his personal vintage archive, the label’s designs are rooted in the glamour of the ‘70s and ‘80s disco scene. Retrofête is most recognized for its dazzling, hand-sewn sequin dresses, which quickly became a go-to for celebrities like Jennifer Lopez and Gwyneth Paltrow shortly after the brand’s debut.
