Dubbed the “Brooks Brothers of the Pacific,” Reyn Spooner has defined sophisticated Aloha wear since 1961. The brand was born in Honolulu from the partnership of Reyn McCullough, a retailer with a mind for classic menswear, and Ruth Spooner, a seamstress known for quality surf trunks. Dissatisfied with the loud, flimsy Hawaiian shirts of the era, McCullough pioneered a new approach. Inspired by a local who wore his shirt inside-out for a more subdued look, he combined this reverse-print method with the tailored construction of an Ivy League oxford.
