Founded in 2015 through a collaboration between footwear designer Maurizio Quaglia and Slam Jam founder Luca Benini, ROA is an Italian brand that blurs the line between technical outdoor gear and contemporary fashion. Named for the Forcella della Roa pass in the Dolomites, the brand was created to fill a void in the market for footwear that was both functional for hiking and aesthetically suited for urban environments. ROA’s design philosophy embraces a hybrid attitude, applying a sportswear sensibility to high-performance outdoor footwear and apparel by using avant-garde materials and experimental construction techniques.
