Founded by Marcel Rochas in Paris in 1925, Rochas began as a couture house with a mission to bring youth and simplicity to fashion. Rochas was a pioneer, introducing innovations like skirts with pockets, 2/3-length coats, and the iconic wasp-waisted corset years before it became mainstream. While the brand’s early celebrity clientele included stars like Mae West and Marlene Dietrich, its most enduring legacy was established in fragrance, beginning with the iconic "Femme" in 1944, a perfume created for his wife and muse, Hélène. After Marcel's death in 1955, the fashion division closed, and the house focused primarily on its successful perfume business for several decades.
